Historical Ann Arbor, Michigan Wedding

This early Fall Michigan Wedding was a day that felt like we might have slipped back in time, and loving history and vintage as much as we do, that was 100% not a problem at all! From the timeless decor, to the charming locations, the exquisite dress, and every small detail in between- this Wedding was one for the History books!

Miranda and Bryce’s Wedding day was FILLED with so many special moments but one of our favorite things (besides the AMAZING Historical and Vintage locations you’re about to see!) were all the FIRST moments we captured through out the day!

The Dad and Daughter First Look that was followed by a huge, warm embrace.

The Bridal Party seeing their stunning Bride in her dress for the very firs time- shout out to The Dress Shop in Howell, Michigan for this romantic dress that holds such an heirloom feel to it!

And the Bride and Groom’s First Look (don’t miss the mischievous Groomsmen poking their heads around the corner to get a look too!)

It’s these real life, never to be recreated again moments that we live to capture, forever, so you can share them with the next generation and show- this is where it all FIRST started, in this moment in this photograph!

The Ceremony was held at The University Bank in Ann Arbor. I don’t know about you but all of a sudden I am really, really disappointed in my bank. And as much as this girl likes online banking, you bet if my bank looked like this I would be going here for EVERY transaction. Needless to say ALL the charm was delivered for this couple and they were pronounced Mr. and Mrs.

After the I Dos we took a little stroll, stopping by The Michigan Stadium and The University of Michigan Law Quadrangle. These Gothic Style Buildings were to die for, which was needed, because these two and their entire Wedding Party were to die for, so they needed a background that could keep up!

Next we moved onto the Reception which was beautifully done in a private backyard. After such a glamorous day we leave you with these closing remarks:

Vintage Fall Port Huron Wedding

Golden Hour on Solitude Links Golf Course

Normally the wedding day starts off in a salon but our Bride, Carlie, actually had the salon come to her! She runs Paul Mitchell The Salon and they were able to shut their doors for the day to bring their talented crew to the bridal party! The morning was spent with not only her best girls that were in the wedding, but also the amazing people she gets to see every day at work! Good vibes were felt all around as everyone got special attention and some pampering with hair and makeup. And no morning is complete without the glamour shot of the bridal gown!! Carlie got hers from Joys Bridal Boutique in down town Port Huron.

So what were the boys up to as the girls spent hours getting ready, makeup spread all over the counters, hair spray flying, dresses being zipped and tucked? They were clearly taking the relaxed approach, hanging out in the kitchen, shirts unbuttoned until the last minute, and toasting to what would end up being a beautiful day!

Alex and Carlie opted for a first look which turned out to be such a beautiful, emotional experience that was so sweet to capture before the hustle and bustle of the day began! Just a quiet, romantic exchange of love, privately, before the big I Do!!

Family and friends flew in from all over to celebrate this special Fall day. The seats were filled, smiles were big, and the Solitude Links Golf Course made a gorgeous natural and colorful backdrop for it all!

After the ceremony we snuck off with the new Mr. and Mrs. to get those oh so dreamy sunset pictures we’re so well known for. And can we just say- if you’re looking for fashion inspiration for your wedding, look no further. These colors were so dreamy for an outdoor wedding ceremony, and the slight vintage feel of how it all came together was perfection.

As night crept in on us, the party got going, thanks to the DJ High Fidelity Sounds! It was an awesome night filled with so much dancing, laughter, and of course new young love!
We loved that these 2 kept almost everything local, most of the vendors were from the Port Huron / St. Clair County Area, and even though Double Stuffed Bakery is from Washington, MI we still love them, because the cake and those cupcakes were darling!

Romantic Kentucky Wedding

Traveling to the South for Love

This actually wasn’t a Destination Wedding for the Bride and Groom, but it WAS a Destination Wedding for RSP! We were so excited when we were asked to travel from Michigan to Smiths Grove, Kentucky to capture this romantic, elegant barn wedding done right!

Dustin is from Kentucky and Katie is from our home state, Michigan. It was important to them to have someone they knew and were comfortable with to capture their wedding, so that’s where we enter the picture! We couldn’t agree with that more, because let’s be honest, we hang out with our couples ALL day, before the guests show up, after half the gusts leave, even before the wedding helping to plan all the little details, and after the wedding until your collection arrives. So- you want to love your photographers!

I love these calm moments before friends and family fill up the wedding venue. All the decor, colors, attention to detail… it’s all untouched and the whole feel of the day can shine! The Scotts got married at Elkins Grove, Smiths Grove, Kentucky. When you think barn wedding you think burlap, mason jars, shabby chic. This was far from that. This was homey elegance, cozy romanticism, upscale vintage. It was classy but still fun. It was emotional, but the happy kind!

The southern Wedding Ceremony was outside at sunset and the weather for a Fall Kentucky wedding was perfection. Friends and family gathered to watch this sweet couple tie the knot. The Reception followed inside. Even if you don’t take the time to read this, you can still “read” the beauty of the day in these images. They truly tell their love story just as the day was.
